WOKING

Attention to detail is synonymous with McLaren.

Nowhere is this evident more than in the McLaren Technology Centre. From the cable-less lifts powered by hydraulic rams that resemble pistons in a cylinder, to the laboratory environment of the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren production line, the home of the McLaren Group is a showcase to the precision and engineering expertise that the organisation is renowned for.

The McLaren Technology Centre is the corporate and production headquarters for the McLaren Group. This state of the art centre, designed by renowned architects Foster and Partners, has brought together the majority of the Group's activities under one roof. The McLaren Technology Centre is located on a 50 hectare site approximately three kilometres north of Woking town centre, Surrey, UK.

THE MERCEDES-BENZ SLR McLAREN ASSEMBLY FACILITY

No other car is created in an environment similar to the one that gives birth to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.

This is because the paint and assembly process is totally unique, each car being built only metres away from the Team McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 cars. Highly skilled and dedicated technicians use the latest technology to assemble every Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren with absolute precision and attention to detail.

Housed in an architecturally exquisite glass and steel edifice the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren production line is certainly not your typical car manufacturing plant.

There is no moving conveyer belt, no air hoses, no wires, or anything else that should disturb our highly skilled technicians from hand-assembling the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren to the highest quality.

The assembly hall echoes the clinical environment in which the Formula 1 cars are assembled - everything for a reason in the pursuit of perfection.
